Intercity Passenger Rail Grants

Description:

Establishes the Federal-State Partnership for Intercity Passenger Rail Grant Program. This program provides funding for capital projects that reduce the state of good repair backlog, improve performance, or expand or establish new intercity passenger rail service, including privately operated intercity passenger rail service, if an eligible applicant is involved. The program is allocated $7.5 billion for fiscal years 2022 through 2026. The federal share of the total cost of a project for which a grant is awarded under this program cannot exceed 80%.
