Description:

Major Rehabilitation for Rivers and Harbors program is designed to fund the construction of authorized coastal navigation projects at ports and harbors, which includes the deepening and widening of Federal navigation channels. The aim of these projects is to enhance commercial navigation, thereby boosting commerce, and to ensure the protection and preservation of aquatic habitats.

Not more than $250,000,000 will be for work at harbors defined by section 2006 of the Water Resources Development Act of 2007 33 USC 2242) and not more than $250,000,000 will be for projects determined to require repair in the report prepared pursuant to section 1104 of the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act.
