Description

The Department of Defense Natural Resources Program oversees the management of natural resources on approximately 27 million acres of land owned or operated by the Department of Defense (DOD), including the creation and implementation of Integrated Natural Resources Management Plans across 320 military installations. The Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) provides policy guidance, oversight, and tools to DOD Components (departments and other organization entities) to implement their own natural resources programs. According to DOD, the program’s key priorities are “reducing regulatory mission impacts, climate adaptation, and aligning NR program activities and investments to support DOD’s mission.”
