Welcome to the Taxpayers for Common Sense
Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Spending Database

About This Website

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), enacted on August 16, 2022, involved more than $450 billion in new spending and tax provisions across the federal budget. To help taxpayers track and understand how funds from these laws are being allocated, Taxpayers for Common Sense has compiled a database using publicly available sources. This resource focuses on provisions with explicit funding. It does not include provisions that lack funding or are primarily administrative. The database includes estimated costs, budget authority for authorized programs, and Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) scores for tax provisions. Where available, Congressional Budget Office (CBO) scores are also included. Text indicates whether a program is newly created by the legislation or builds on an existing federal program.

(To see how the FY22 reconciliation package – later known as the Inflation Reduction Act – came together, earlier versions of legislation, and TCS’s recommendations prior to the bill being signed into law, please see our FY22 Budget Reconciliation Resource Page.)
