Welcome to the Taxpayers for Common Sense
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) Spending Database

About This Database

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), enacted on November 15, 2021, involved $580 billion in new spending across the federal budget, largely aimed at improving the nation’s infrastructure. To help taxpayers track and understand how funds from these laws are being allocated, Taxpayers for Common Sense has compiled a database using publicly available sources. This resource focuses on provisions with explicit funding. It does not include provisions that lack funding, are primarily administrative, or provide baseline support for ongoing efforts—such as the five-year surface transportation reauthorization. The database includes estimated costs and budget authority for authorized programs. Where available, Congressional Budget Office (CBO) scores are also included. Text indicates whether a program is newly created by the legislation or builds on an existing federal program.
